One Year

Abril 17, 2008

I have one good reason to celebrate.

Because the month of April marks crumbs‘ one year.

That made me smile — a big one plastered on my face right now. πŸ˜€ I still can’t believe that I’ve been blogging (seriously) for a year. A couple of years ago, I used to maintain a (very inactive) blog somewhere else (in a social networking site πŸ˜€ ). I wasn’t even aware of the existence of WordPress then! Thanks to Tim, who encouraged me to attend the i-blog summit in UP last year. I’d say it was “enlightening.” If I hadn’t joined, I wouldn’t have discovered the fun of sharing my thoughts to the rest of the world and getting a response from whoever reads whatever I have written. The biggest reward of blogging, for me, is gaining friends that ordinarily I wouldn’t have met if I wasn’t here. You, people in my blogroll, I thank you—for sharing bits and pieces of your life and letting me share mine. πŸ™‚

Cheers to us!
P.S – I have also started a photo blog here. You might want to take a look. I’d appreciate it very much. πŸ™‚

Avilon, the Second Time Around

Abril 6, 2008

The first time I visited Avilon Zoo a couple of years back, I really loved the experience!

Welcome to Avilon Zoo

Yesterday (April 5), together with some friends from work, I spent a whole day at Avilon Zoo for the second time, and boy, I had a wonderful time! As they say, the second time is always sweeter, well in this case, much, much better than the first since a lot of improvement had been done by the administration of the zoological park (and still doing more until now, kudos to them).

Unlike my first visit, our small group didn’t hire a tour guide. Since I’ve been there before, maybe I’ll just be the tour guide (minus the explanation about the animals, of course! πŸ˜€ ). Avilon Zoo is a seven hectare park and it’s fun to get lost at such a big place when you’re with carefree, good-tempered people. Nobody complained about all the walking, the heat or to those who arrived a little late. All of us just had fun! And I’d like to share just how much fun we had.

Almost Summer

Marso 7, 2008

It feels good to get away from the hum of the city even for a while. A few weeks ago, I had the chance to spend a couple of days in Pundaquit, Zambales. Let me share some pictures of those relaxing days. πŸ™‚

Early morning in Pundaquit, Zambales I love walking on the sand. Sea breeze on my skin.

Exploring the beach early morning, Saturday.

See the island?Kubo - perfect provincial ambience.By the nearby hill.Fun on the beach.

*Some quick snaps.*

The more lively end.

Bridge to Pundaquit.

The other side.

Had to ask our driver to stop here so I could take these shots.

I need to explore the place more. And I’m definitely going back! I have yet to know the real name of the river and the places it runs through. I have to visit the islands, too (Caponies) and see the other side of the hill, where, according to the locals, the water is calmer and the environment is more serene. Yeah, there’s a lot more to discover!

Wednesday Breakfast

Pebrero 21, 2008

Because it was Wednesday and had to hurry, had to have quick breakfast and this is what I had:

berries-red

The strawberries were a bit sour but still good. I was dreaming of eating some more the whole day. πŸ˜€

I Love Tuesdays

Pebrero 19, 2008

Because on Tuesdays, the traffic is lighter — even in EDSA, commuting is easy, and I get to work early.

Tuesdays give me a chance to have a descent breakfast because I have extra time (usually spent in traffic in other days) to eat my almusal.

On Tuesdays, I usually attend a movie premiere. And I love movies! I don’t mind if I get home a little late and the next day is a working day. πŸ˜€

Oh, I just LOVE TUESDAYS!

Something Old, Something New

Pebrero 18, 2008

This a long overdue tag. I was supposed to post it a long time ago. This tag’s from Rhapsody. She wants me to go over my archives and pick a few posts about:

  • Family: Definitely, it’s “Laugh at Your Heart’s Content.” The post is composed of photos mainly but I think they say a lot about how we are in the family (meaning, the whole clan). Besides, those photos are among my most treasured — happy and carefree.
  • Friends: From my Old Neighborhood. I grew up in the barrio, so the neighborhood is pretty tight. The other kids there became my first buddies before I made friends in school.
  • Myself: Me, a Love Charm?! I still think I am. πŸ˜€ Read the post and tell me if my theory is correct. πŸ˜‰
  • Choice: It’s about an old hobby, a Forgotten Passion. I’m trying to find time to do it. I will. Someday. Tell me if I should. πŸ™‚
  • Something I love: I love this poem. πŸ˜€ I hope you’ll read it and you’ll share yours!

That’s about it. I’m supposed to tag other people, but I guess most of you did this already. But if you’re reading this post and haven’t done this meme, then I’m passing it on to you. Just remember this simple rule:

Go through your archive and choose five of your favorite posts about your family, friends, yourself, something you love and lastly, your own choice.
